Barcia Alejos

Republican Candidate for Marion County Recorder

Barcia Alejos is a proven business leader running for Marion County Recorder.  Alejos has a B.S in Business Administration in International Business and Spanish and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Management.  

She has been a business leader and manager for more than 30 years responsible for as many as 85 direct employees.  She is Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified with a focus on improving processes in organizations for optimal efficiency.  

An accomplished speaker and trainer, Alejos is an effective presenter and communicator in both English and Spanish.  

Besides her leadership in corporate and small business organizations, she is also a leader in not-for-profit organizations serving as president, vice-president, director, chairperson, and members of multiple volunteer organizations, proving that she is a leader of both those that must follow her (such as in the business world), and those that choose to follow her! 

Andrew Harrison

Republican Candidate for Marion County Clerk

Andrew Harrison is the Head of Physical Security for the Americas & Asia Pacific Regions for Cognizant Technology Solutions. He is responsible for all Physical Security Operations, to include Travel Security, Global Business Resiliency, and Crisis Management as part of the Cognizant Global Security Team. Andrew is responsible for the safety & security of 75,000 employees, and 120 facilities in his regions. Andrew leads a very diverse team of managers that are located in North America, Canada, Mexico, and the Philippines. While at Cognizant, Andrew, serves as a Corporate Change Champion, and a Career Mentor. Andrew is well versed in geo-political affairs as he has launched new facilities & programs in North America, El Salvador, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Hungary, Poland and the Philippines in the last 7 years at Cognizant. Also, in the private sector Andrew previously served on the TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association) Board of Directors, which is the global benchmarking security standard(s) in the fight against cargo crime. While serving on the TAPA Board of Directors, Andrew was assigned to the Standards Committee. He co-authored the 2014 global supply chain security standards.

Andrew has been very active in his community on the Southside of Indianapolis (Perry Township) by giving back and volunteering near and around the Southport area. He has held a number of volunteer offices in recent years, including, the City of Southport, Indiana, Public Safety Board- Board Member & Emergency Management Chair, and the City of Southport, Parks & Recreation Board – Board Member & Secretary

Andrew also formed the 1st CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) organization on the Southside of Indianapolis (he aligned 30 citizens from Southport, Homecroft, and Greenwood to attend 40 hours of Homeland Security Training: at no cost). While volunteering there, he was the CERT Director. Andrew also proudly served his community by serving on the Marion County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee (FEMA/Homeland Security Grant Committee).

Andrew was the recipient of the 2014 Indianapolis Business Journal (IBJ) Top Forty Under 40 Award. (Each year the IBJ publishes 40 success stories that are transforming the way we live and work in Central Indiana; they are leaders under the age of 40 in their community and their respective fields).

Andrew is also the Vice President of his neighborhood’s homeowner’s association (Southport Trace).

Andrew is a graduate of the University of Maryland University College, where he studied Criminal Justice. 

Randy Swindle

Republican Candidate for Marion County Sheriff

Tired of seeing his city and neighborhoods fall victim to rising crime along with the mismanagement of the criminal justice center, Randy Swindle has stepped up to run for Marion County Sheriff.

Randy has an extensive background in law enforcement that includes two decades at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Swindle retired from the sheriff’s office in 2018 after rising to the rank of sergeant and continues his law enforcement career with IMPD.

Over the course of his years in public service, Randy has been both an innovator and leader. He helped implemented the first National Night Out, an event centered on building police-community partnerships, in Indianapolis. This program has since spread across the county with police and civilian participation. He was also pivotal in helping implement and training the first bicycle patrol unit in the sheriff’s office, leaving in place the standard for training still used today.

Randy was born and raised on the southside of Indianapolis where he resides today. Together with his wife, he has two children, three step-children, and two grandchildren.
