Prosecutor Candidate Philip Foust Hits the Ground Running
Candidate for Marion County Prosecutor Philip Foust has hit the campaign trail, attending GOP meetings and outlining his plan to refocus the prosecutor’s office by enforcing the law, partnering with law enforcement, and holding criminals accountable.
Foust: Mears’ Comments are “Reckless” and “Disqualifying”
When Prosecutor Mears speculated about a future federal “occupation” of Indianapolis and threatened prosecution of federal immigration enforcement officers, Foust called his comments “reckless” and “disqualifying,” stating that Mears’ rhetoric inflames tensions and invites confrontation.
As a former deputy prosecutor, Foust understands the role of the prosecutor’s office and says Mears is trying to score political points, rather than ensure public safety.
Foust says Prosecutors DO NOT
Inflame tensions (they show restraint)
Prejudge cases (they reserve judgment)
Taint potential juries (they hold their tongues)
Endanger the public (they promote peace)
Seek to score cheap points against law enforcement (they pursue justice and impartially apply the law)

Councilor Hart Working to Save Ransburg YMCA
Republican Councilor Michael-Paul Hart is working to halt the closure of the Ransburg YMCA, an important cornerstone of the Warren Township community.
His solution? Address immediate and long-term needs. In the short term, Hart aims to close the funding gap by partnering with philanthropic organizations. For the long term goal, he proposes creating an employee wellness partnership that the city could join and private employers could adopt. This initiative would be part of a broader, countywide strategy centered on preventive health care.
Councilor Hart: “Hancock County has a model that works. It blends health care and wellness in a way that improves outcomes and reduces long-term costs. My goal is to bring that playbook to Marion County by using YMCA facilities as a platform for prevention-focused health access, supported through serious partnerships and a clear financial plan.”
