Philip Foust Calls Out Mears for Making Excuses for Violent Criminals

Enough with EXCUSES for murderers and armed robbers! Ryan Mears says “kids" are "not always going to make the right choice in terms of using a firearm."

That's quite the euphemism. This isn't the case of a toddler stumbling across a loaded gun. Some teenagers are choosing to rob and kill people. The vast majority of young people, by the way, don't choose to rob and kill people. But we can expect more violence if we choose euphemisms, excuses, and comfortable lies instead of hard truths.

Hold offenders accountable much earlier, before their crimes escalate. Hold parents accountable. Teach respect for human life and that some actions have consequences that can't be undone.

We need a prosecutor who puts victims first and doesn't make excuses for murderers and robbers. Ryan Mears is not their defense attorney.
