Public Safety Amendments Go to Committee

Next week, the Administration and Finance Committee and Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee will hear Councilor Bain and Councilor Hart’s public safety proposals. 

  • Proposal 1: Removing Residency Requirements for City Employees

  • Proposal 2: Enhancing Parental Accountability for Juvenile Curfew Violations

  • Proposal 3: Reforming the General Orders Advisory Board

KeystakeholderslikeFraternal Order of Police President Rick Snyderpraised the proposals as “common sense” and called them “no-brainer moves that make a real difference.”Fervent Prayer Church lead pastor James Jacksonsaid fines for curfew violations could lead to safer streets.
