💲Hogsett Introduces Billion Dollar Budget
This week, Mayor Joe Hogsett introduced his proposed $1.7 billion budget for Indianapolis. Here’s a quick breakdown:
Public Safety: $850 million split between OPHS, IMPD, IFD, MESA and the Sheriff’s Office.
Infrastructure: Adds $10 million toward projects including: Eagle Creek Greenway extensions, Nickel Plate over Keystone Bridge, Girls School road, road construction on West Washington Street and Perimeter road, drainage and rehabilitation work in Fountain Square
Homelessness: $10 million allocated for homelessness initiatives and funding for 50 transitional housing units.
Parks: $57.7 million in capital investments for Indy Parks.
