A few things to know as you head into your weekend. 

  1. Councilor Mowery Speaks Out on Failed Hogsett Investigation

Councilor Brian Mowery addressed the glaring shortcomings in the recent investigation into the serious failures of leadership and ethics by Mayor Joe Hogsett’s administration:

"If I took my car to get detailed and they only cleaned the windows, I'm not paying full price," Mowery said. "That's how I feel about this report."

He's absolutely right. The investigation failed to address critical allegations, including inappropriate late-night text messages from Mayor Hogsett to young female city employees. These omissions raise concerns about transparency and the quality of this investigation. Read more on WTHR.

  1. Councilor Crista Carlino, the chair of the Investigative Committee, calls on Mayor Hogsett, Council President Vop Osili, and Council Vice President Ali Brown to step down for their failed leadership. 

Councilor Carlino can shift blame to her fellow councilors all she wants, but it doesn’t negate the truth. She should have asked tougher questions of the Fisher Philips attorneys and forced them to be transparent on the status of the investigation. This kind of finger-pointing is a distraction from the true justice and answers these victims deserve. Read more in the IndyStar
