Hogsett's Plagued by Corruption Allegations; Yet His Ethics Commission Hasn't Met in Years
The Indianapolis ethics commission, which is appointed entirely by Mayor Joe Hogsett, has convened just once during Hogsett’s decade in office, despite a litany of credible corruption allegations against his admin.
On the campaign trail, Hogsett touted that “public integrity" and combatting public corruption was a top priority, yet in office Hogsett’s been engulfed in corruption scandals—including hand delivering city contracts to top donors.
Carjacking at Nora Plaza; Latest Example of Mears’s Soft on Crime Policies
On Tuesday at Nora Plaza, a woman had a gun pointed at her, her vehicle window smashed, and car stolen. Under Prosecutor Mears’ soft-on-crime leadership Indianapolis residents have to consider whether a routine trip to the grocery could end in a carjacking. This is not normal. We must elect a prosecutor who will enforce the law and hold criminals accountable.
PHILIP FOUST will provide Marion County with the leadership it needs. Candidate for Marion County Prosecutor Philip Foust is running to clean up Mears’ years of failed leadership. Philip will enforce the law, seek justice for victims, protect the public, and return sanity to our county.
FOUST Calls for Special Prosecutor in Hogsett Corruption and Broad Ripple Businesses Cases
Yesterday, Foust called on Prosecutor Mears to appoint special prosecutors to both the Hogsett corruption case and the Broad Ripple business case, saying Mears has trapped himself in a "glaring double standard” regarding Mears’ authority to start and conduct investigations.
