Happy Friday!
Foust Commends Indiana Police for their vote of NO CONFIDENCE for Prosecutor Ryan Mears -
In a released statement, candidate for Marion County Prosecutor Philip Foust thanked the Indiana Fraternal Order of Police for their vote of no confidence against weak-on-crime prosecutor Ryan Mears.
Philip Foust: “With their vote of no confidence today, Indiana’s law enforcement have sided with the law-abiding people of Marion County who have suffered under an ideological experiment for long enough.”
As prosecutor, Foust would focus on restoring accountability to the prosecutor’s office, and safety to Marion County and bring the change Indianapolis families need.
“Together, we can restore safety, accountability, and confidence in the Marion County Justice System."
IMPD Warns About Dangerous Gatherings Heading into Summer - WRTV
IMPD Deputy Chief Matthew Thomas issued a public warning on June 11 urging residents to call 911 if they spot large, sudden, unannounced crowds. The warning comes as Indianapolis heads into a summer already marked by late-night violence downtown.
"With the capabilities of social media, sharing people’s locations with large groups of people, releasing locations at the last minute — all of these characteristics of what can be useful technology can also result in people gathering very quickly,” Thomas said.
Candidate for Marion County Prosecutor Philip Foust has highlighted the necessity of focusing on juvenile crime to regulate violence downtown: “Indianapolis has a juvenile crime crisis, and we cannot ignore it. We are seeing teenagers carjacking, teenagers in car chases, teenagers shooting at police, teenagers killing and being killed. IMPD is doing their part — the prosecutor’s office needs to do theirs.”
Hendricks County Prosecutor Releases Hard Data on Marion County Crime Spillover - WIBC
As crime continues to plague Marion and surrounding counties, Hoosier leaders have focused their attention on Ryan Mears and his inability to prosecute in the face of violent crime. Loren Delp, the Hendricks County prosecutor, has recently joined this conversation in support of leaders like Mayor Sue Finkam and Senator Jim Banks.
Delp says its time for an adult conversation and that we “cannot argue that it is not true that Marion County criminals do not come into neighboring communities and commit violent crime there. That is a fact.”
According to Delp, the number of murders in Hendricks county charged to Marion county residents has tripled in recent years.
Delp, Finkam, and the citizens of the donut counties are ready for accountability. Hoosier families deserve safety, and a prosecutor who will focus on the root of the issue and stand up against repeat offenders.
