This Friday we are taking our newsletter to honor the life of Beech Grove police Officer Brian Elliott who was slain in the line of duty this week. 

Candidate for Marion County Prosecutor Philip Foust has hit the campaign trail, attending GOP meetings and outlining his plan to refocus the prosecutor’s office by enforcing the law, partnering with law enforcement, and holding criminals accountable.

Yesterday, former Marion County deputy prosecutor, Harvard-educated attorney, and current Speedway Clerk-Treasurer Philip Foust filed to run for Marion County Prosecutor, pledging to restore law and order in Indianapolis.

A few weeks ago, State Rep. Mitch Gore [D] called out Indy Council Dems for refusing to remove the residency requirement for public defenders. In August 2025, Council Republicans introduced a public safety proposal to eliminate the restriction, allowing public defender offices to recruit and retain talent outside the county. 

We had a great turnout at our annual Legislative Update Breakfast. Thanks to all those who attended and supported, and a special thank you to Senate Pro Tem Bray and Speaker Houston for their leadership and insights. We are all looking forward to another productive year at the Indiana Statehouse.
